Lady Bug Cake!!

This lady bug cake was such a pleasure to make. I love all the bright colors, and of course the ladybugs are too cute, flying around all those pretty daisies. Avery special cake for a very special little girl. For a tutorial on how to make these little fondant lady bugs, please visit my other blog :

Party Planning Tuesday ~ Ruffled Pink Barbie Cake ~

Welcome to the 10th edition of:

Photobucket

I know it's Friday, and this is a Tuesday Party. I thought I put it up on Monday night, but instead of hitting Publish, I hit save, ooops.

Sorry about that :)

Today I am sharing a pretty cake we did. Yup it's another barbie cake, we do a lot of those, but this one had a pretty pink ruffle dress. I had so much fun dressing her in this pink and white dress. We added a huge pretty bow to the back of the dress, and slid a dress up ring in the middle of it.

We added some fondant butterflies, and edible pearls to the dress the following morning.
It was so fun to create this cake. The inside of the cake was a delicious vanilla cake with a strawberry mousse filling. Quite yummy, if you ask me!

Purple Heart Barbie Cake

Purple Heart Barbie Cake
This barbie cake is what every little girl needs at least once in her life. We created her dress out of fondant, and stamped the white to look like a lovely lace. We made a pretty flower and added a heart to the dress as well. These cakes are so fun to make, decorating the dress is always so much fun.
A close up of the flower on the dress.
I thought I'd try my hand at changing the background again? I know it looks fake, but tell me honestly does it look better or worse?

Dora Birthday Cake

How cute is this cake? I love Dora, Dora, Dora the explorer :)
There was no special pan used here, just a regular quarter sheet, cut in shape. Then with a template of Dora, we started outlining Dora, and filing her in with the star tip, and colored frosting. Again piping on the final details, around the eyes, clothes, body, shoes, and jewelry.

This type of cake is simple even for a beginner. I like to say if you can color you can pipe little stars, to fill in the blanks. Give it a try next time, take your time with it, and have fun. You'll be surprised at how simple it really is.

FEATURED - The Pom Pom Birthday Cake -

This is the very first FEATURED cake we are doing! How exciting! My sweet friend Ami @ Alililly made her sweet girl who turned 3 a darling little cake. The inside was so pretty, with colors to match the decorations, and she topped the cake with a beautiful little banner. Complete with MINI tissue paper pom poms. It was just adorable. So the next time you are looking for an easy, quick way to decorate a birthday cake, why not try this.

Barbie Cake

Every little girl needs at least one Barbie Birthday cake right? I love the way this one turned out. The barbie is so pretty with her gorgeous dress strapped to her wrists. Sometimes, when we use a barbie that is kind of (naked) we need to add a blouse to her too. This one already had a lovely top as well, so we just created the rest of the dress. The mom wanted whipped topping, instead of fondant, so we simply added some sugar flowers to the fluffy whipped topping white dress, and the cake is finished. Little Cassidy was pleased, and everyone enjoyed a tasty piece of cake. Then the birthday princess got to play with her new Barbie doll.
Have you had a Barbie cake before? Have you ever tried making one? I would love to hear all about it. Make sure to leave a link if you have one, so I can come visit you!!

Hello Kitty Fondant Cake

This is one of the many hello kitty cakes we have done. They always turn out so cute. This is an example of a 3-d carved cake, usually covered in fondant for the smoothest finish. The entire body was just cut out and carved from a large sheet cake.

This particular shape is rather simple to carve even for a beginner. If you are unsure of carving it free hand you can always make a large template. Print out your hello kitty and enlarge it to the size you want your cake to be, and then cut it out. Now you can place that on your cake, and cut the shape perfectly.

For a more realistic form, further crave away around the ears, and round out the arms and legs, so they are not squared. We covered the head and body in fondant, but the hands and legs were piped with the star tip and icing. The bow and eyes are also cut out of fondant.

Here I just wanted to show what a little photo editing can do for a picture. Remember most of these pictures are taken with my moms iphone, and she is not a photographer. I am also nowhere near a professional, and haven't ever really messed with photo editing too much, but what a huge difference it makes. I think I need to go back and edit all my pictures now.
Obviously the before picture. It's a pretty huge difference right? Are any of you picture pros. First of all do you have any tips for taking better pictures with an iphone. Second can you tell me, did I do the color ok in the first picture. I had no idea what I was doing, i just messed with it until the pink was more bright, and to me that looked prettier. Did I do ok?

Butterfly, Flower Birthday Cake

What a pretty cake for the birthday princess turning one.
Her mom wanted Rianna's cake to have plenty of pretty butterflies, flowers, and stripes. We had a party plate to look at, and had to draw inspiration from there.

The cake is just so colorful, and it was tons of fun creating it.

All the decorations are handmade from fondant, (except the silver butterfly, that was actually a wand).

Welcome to Euro Style Cakes, my new blog!!!

Welcome to our new blog Euro Style Cakes.
We are a mother daughter team, that specialize in making custom cakes for your special day.
This blog will be updated with all the cakes we do, and since I've just started it, and we have so many cakes already from the past, I will be updating with cakes that we'v already done as well.

We serve a large Romanian clientele so many of the cakes you see may have writing in a language other than English. You will also see many desserts, pastries, and sweet breads that are very common to Romanians, and Europeans in general. We will try our best to name these things in English, but to be honest I really don't know what half of them are called, besides in Romanian.

Also until we learn the ins and outs of taking really great photographs, please bare with us, as many of the pictures you see are taken by my mom with her Iphone. I know it's not the best, but she has like zero photography skills, and I'm not there to take a picture of every cake, so until we figure out a way around this, I will have no choice but to try and make the pictures we have look as good as possible.

So enjoy your time here, and I hope that you get some inspiration for your next cake.

This was a fun cake to create. It is so colorful, and festive. It is a fondant covered cake. Fondant cutouts, and fondant shaped stars. The cake is a white cake, with a bavarian filling, and fresh fruit. One of our most popular cake flavors.
