Party Planning #7 ~ BABY CONVERSE CAKE ~

Welcome to the 7th edition of 

Before we get the party started let me show you a cake we did this weekend.

It was my first time making baby shoes from fondant. I really wanted to do little converse, they are so cute, and so I tried my very best to do just that. This was a baby shower cake, for a little boy, so we decorated the rest of the cake with buttons and little baby clothes. We got the inspiration for this cake from the lovely Amy @ Momentary Madness, who did a beautiful cake that we saw on Pinterest, and just knew this was what we wanted to make for this baby shower. It was a surprise for the mommy, and our gift to her, so we got free reign on the design. We choose the colors RED, YELLOW, and BLUE basically because they are the colors of the Romanian flag, and it just fit, for this cake.

Pregnant Belly Umbrella Cake

This cake was so much fun to create. I had an invitation for inspiration, and while I changed the colors up a bit, I kept the design pretty much the same.  The bottom of the dress has pleats, and scalloped edges. I also added delicate little white flowers to further decorate the dress, purse, and umbrella.

My mom made some beautiful fondant flowers to finish off the cake. The mommy was beaming with joy when she saw the cake, and we were delighted with the result.

Baby Tummy Cake

Baby Tummy Cake
This is one of our most popular baby shower cakes.  Clearly you can see why, it is so fun, and for the mom to be, who is about to pop, it always gives her quite the laugh. This cake was decorated with a beautiful blue dress, adorned with black swirly designs. A big bow complete with some crystals adorned the front as well, with a big heart saying Congratulations.

The picture quality is horrible, I am sorry about that. One of these days I will be able to take the most awesome pictures, you wait and see, he he.

Baby Blue Baby Shower Cake

This was a beautiful baby shower cake we did. Obviously it was for a little boy. I made a small baby out of fondant, and draped a pretty blue blanket over him. The pacifier is a clear plastic one, from party city. The rest of the cake is covered in fondant, and decorated with small blue dots, two baby feet on the bottom tier, and a blue and white twisted rope as a border. To finish the cake off, we added a beautiful big blue bow. Adding edible pearls all along.
